We decided to go on a short Summer vacation, so Labor Day weekend we traveled to Destin, FL. Below you can see the master driver...
We stopped at Wards for lunch on the way to Destin, and Caroline decided she wanted to show us a few modeling moves. She had us rolling!
Now...we knew there was a tropical storm coming, but we thought we would take a picture of the local paper for that day. Tropical Storm Lee was on its way...you know when they give the tropical storm a name that you should turn around, but we kept going!
Friday afternoon we arrived at Destin, and we did not even take our suitcases to our room. We ran straight to the beach...we knew we would not have much beach time before the tropical storm arrived.
After a little play, we were able to talk Caroline into going up to our room and changing into our swimsuits.
Friday afternoon they had the red flag (warning flag for high hazard). Saturday they tried putting up the double red flag (Danger! Water Closed), but the wind was to furious so they took all the flags down.
I posted the next two pictures to show the wind on Friday...by Saturday and Sunday we could not walk on the beach, because the sand was blowing so hard it was stinging our legs.

We left a day early due to Tropical Storm Lee moving to the shore. We thought this would give us an extra day to head home, but Caroline was a trooper and we made it the entire way home on Sunday.
We did give her a little treat at our last stop...twizzlers! Her favorite!
It was another successful trip to Destin/Fort Walton Beach! We hope the tradition will continue! We love taking family trips together. Our big vacation for this year is coming up soon and we cannot wait! Making memories one trip at a time!
