Yard Sale

We had our first official yard sale as a family this weekend, and we were all exhausted by the end of the first day! Matt moved home and we had two of everything, so we decided to set up shop and see what would happen. We completed the sale today with chunk change and have cleaned out the garage.

Matt took Caroline for a ride on the four-wheeler and I decided that when they got closer to the house I would snap a picture. Turns out...Caroline fell asleep during the ride! First time for everything!

Caroline is One!

I am REALLY REALLY late on this post! We celebrated Caroline's one-year-old birthday party on October 2 at Lakeside Country Club Pavilion. We enjoyed time with friends and family as we watched Caroline open her gifts and demolish the cake.

Caroline has been a wonderful blessing to me and Matt over the past year. Each day is a new learning adventure and she always amazes me with the new things she can achieve. I loved preparing for and celebrating this day with my daughter.

Destin Here We Come...

Caroline and I left last Friday morning to meet Matt in Birmingham. I decided to take this picture of the 'Welcome to Alabama' sign because hopefully this will be the last time that I pass this sign for a good while. Caroline and I have made the trip to meet Matt at least twice a month in Birmingham. I have to say that I have enjoyed meeting and exploring new restaurants and locations during the past year, but I will not miss Highway 78!

We arrived at our hotel in Birmingham and Caroline found that she was tall enough this time to reach the Kleenex opening. Boy oh Boy! We went out to eat Friday night and got up early Saturday morning and headed for Matt's apartment.
Sunday morning we decided to surprise Caroline and take her to Destin. As we we started getting close, I felt like a kid who was arriving at Disney World! I had butterflies in my belly I was so excited! I looked back, and Caroline was grinning and looking out the window also!
We found the best parking spot, and loaded up and headed out to the sand. Caroline did not know what to think of the sand at first, because it was so hard for her to walk. She did not want to be carried, so it took us fifteen minutes to walk to a waterfront spot.

One Year Ago...

Matt and I played the 'One Year Ago' game today, as we talked about all the events that were taking place in our life. Matt was on his way home and we were loading up the car and headed to the hospital to deliver Caroline. My labor was induced, long, but wonderful in every way. I was so happy and relieved that Matt was there with me through the process. I had a caring and wonderful nurse and doctor throughout the process. I gave birth to the sweetest little girl that I have ever seen!

We decided to let Caroline wear her party dress early to make sure it fit and she was comfortable in the dress. Wednesday was her actual Birthday. Below is a picture of Wes and Caroline at Wednesday Night Alive.

We wanted to see if Caroline would enjoy a cupcake, and that way we could get an idea of what she would do on Saturday. She devoured and smeared the cupcake to pieces. Matt will be posting video clips in a few days. She also loved her cake at her party, which we will have pictures and video of this week.

Below is a picture of her reaction when we took the cupcake away...

Mommy and Caroline
Caroline has been giving lots of hugs and kisses lately. She loved on her dolphin from Sea World this morning, and then her doll. She loves to give hugs and kisses!

Thanks for my piano Nana!
