Catching Up...Again...

I am playing catch up with a lot of things today, and now I am on the home stretch. The pictures below are from a few weekends back, but still pretty recent. My picture taking has slowed down a bit with Caroline, so I will probably only be updating the blog once a week.

Papaw Moren, Caroline, and Will going for a joy ride
I decided that I would change things around a bit in the guest room...so here is the new comforter set, which is not nearly as bright as the picture makes it look. I also updated a bit of decor, but I have not completed the room. I am so excited to break out the spring bedroom set!
I then moved the old guest room set into our bedroom. I wanted a change for both rooms, so for the time being this is our master bedroom comforter. Sleeps well, except Matt says that I am a sheet hog with the new set for some reason....I must admit that I sometimes wake up with all the cover...hum...
We decided this year for Valentine's Day we were going to celebrate a little different. Saturday night we went to a dinner that our church has each year. This was our first of many years to come to attend the dinner. We were very impressed. Cantina Laredo catered the dinner that consisted of pork, quail, ribs, and Mexican side dishes. The best Mexican salsa and pork I have ever had! Each woman was given a vase of roses and each couple was given a 365 Ways to Say I Love You calendar. This is such a wonderful event. Thanks Christi!

Caroline and Mommy (Caroline sticking out her tongue)
Caroline did not get to go out in the snow as much this last time due to a cold that she has had for a few weeks.

We often have days that Caroline wants to walk over and see Will and Lana...so off we went!

Matt did not want me to take these pictures of him jumping on a pogo stick, but I just had to take a few! He is a pro and can jump for hours upon end...two jumps for me and that is a big deal.

Daddy and Caroline walking back to the house
Caroline had lots of Valentine presents this year from her grandparents and great-grandparents, but Matt and I let her open up her gift from us Monday morning.

Oh my! A new swimsuit from Mommy and...

...a new book from Daddy.

We had a wonderful weekend full of food and joy. Matt and I went to Pinnacle and it was my first time to make it to the very top. In the past I would always stop when it got to the steep part, but Matt pushed me on to the very peak. We felt a sense of accomplishment when we made it back down to the bottom. Hope you all have a good weekend!

Fayetteville Visit

Thursday night we went to go see Barney at Robinson Center. Let me preface this by saying that we were the only family there that did not know the Barney songs, but Caroline had a great time. The first half of the show Caroline was as still as a hawk in Matt's lap. After intermission, she was a complete different little girl. She danced and waved those arms left and right. She was a ball full of fun to watch.

Early Friday afternoon we left to head to Northwest Arkansas to see friends and attend a wedding shower for Sarah and Ryan. We stopped in Clarksville for dinner at a Larry's Pizza. Caroline loves any kind of pizza. It takes her a full hour to eat one piece of pizza, but she enjoys every moment. It is a good way to mix in the vegetable and meat family. We then hopped back into the car and in a blink we were in Lowell at Ben and Kelly's home. They have a little girl Austyn, which is full of smiles. Thank you so much Ben and Kelly for the wonderful hospitality! We enjoyed our stay!

Saturday morning the boys headed our while the girls stayed in for relaxation. I left for Sarah's shower that afternoon, and did not get any pictures, but here is a picture from her surprise birthday party a few weeks back.
After the shower, I met my family and the Pittman family and we went for a walk around the University campus and showed the girls the stadium. We left the stadium and had dinner with Ben and Kelly.

Do you think this little girl had fun?

On our way home we decided to stop at Pickles Gap. This was our first time to visit Pickles Gap...quite the experience. It was a good break for us to get out and stretch our legs. At first Caroline did not know what to think of the chickens, but by the end she was willing to take them home with us as our first pet.

We came home and Uncle Roger and Will came over to fly kites while Matt and I unloaded the luggage. Caroline and I are off to take another trip this weekend. We are back to keeping the road hot and loving it. Caroline is such a good travel partner. When she was younger she would sleep the entire trip, and now she sings with the radio the entire trip. Those of you who have children know that hearing your child sing is the best sound you will ever hear! Have a great weekend!

One LONG Week/RL2

Congrats to Matt for achieving RL2(Readiness Level 2) flying. He received the phone call this week and we are thrilled and proud of our Daddy and Husband!

We went to the Evans' home to watch the Super Bowl Sunday night and enjoyed dinner while watching Caroline and Everett play. Thanks for dinner Nancy!

Wednesday morning I left for work to see the patients that we had scheduled for that morning. I left at seven that morning with no snow, but a cold windy morning. At eight that morning the parking lot of the office was completely covered with snow. Matt left Camp Robinson to come to the office so we could follow each other home. I waited...and then received a call from Matt that he was having difficulty making it up a hill on McCain. We ended up both going our separate ways on the way home and met on the Sheridan Highway. The snow came heavy and fast this time...Matt and I have had enough snow for the next few years!
Our yard within 30 minutes of snowfall!
We have been home bound for the past few days due to the snow, so we decided to mark off some of the things on our to-do-list that always get pushed aside. We shampooed the carpets and cleaned out the butler's pantry. Finally!

While we have been cleaning, Caroline has taken great care of Baby. She has taken her to each room and filled her with lots of love! She is such a good Mommy.

Happy Early Valentine's Day

We started early this Valentine's Day by showing our love and tokens of affection. Earlier this week I finished work to turn around and see Matt showing up with flowers. I really do have the sweetest husband!

Today was a girl day around the house, and Caroline started sporting her Valentine attire. Her hair is still full of curls and I am loving each one. Her hair was so straight yesterday that it went into a ponytail, but I did not have my camera with me to take a picture. Today it is back to the curls again. The girl does not know how lucky she is to have the best of both worlds!

We went to Mamaw and Papaw Moren's home for lunch and look what Caroline found in the frig...hum...to bad it was empty:(
We have a surprise for Daddy when he gets home. Let the month of love begin! We made cream cheese peppermint rolls and a jello heart. We hope he will be surprised. We hope you all have a good weekend. We have a special day tomorrow, so we will be sure to share...

Weekend

This weekend has been one of the best weekends. I know I say that quite often, but I feel so blessed and loved lately. Each day is so wonderful and a blessing from God. It was just the two of us Friday morning, because Matt was flying....which brings me to another happy moment...Matt has been flying a lot lately and enjoying every moment. I am so proud to say that my husband is a pilot!

So Friday morning we got ready to have Brittany come over. Caroline's new favorite item in the bathroom is the curling set. I told her Friday that if her hair stays at the same rate she is traveling right now, she will not need any help with the curls.
Brittany, Caroline, and I went for a surprise pick-up at Jennifer's house and then headed for the local Mexican Restaurant. After a bowl of salsa and catching-up we headed back home to play in the yard. The weather was just right this weekend.

Brittany and Caroline
Saturday morning we decided to head to Little Rock to the Big Dam Bridge, along with many others that had the same idea. It was a perfect 75 degrees and sunny. Most were wearing shorts in the warm weather. We walked about two to three miles and then headed into Maumelle for family lunch.

This morning we got ready to head to church and Caroline just had to take her puppy. Below is a picture of her explaining to me why she needed to take her puppy to church.
After church we headed over to MiMi and Papaw's house for lunch. Caroline and Papaw grilled some mean pork chops!
Tonight I am ending the day to a dream come true...cooking my family dinner. Some of you are thinking that I am crazy for wanting to end on a note of cooking dinner, but this is a special time for me. I grew up in a home where I had a full cooked meal on my plate every night. I do not have the time during the week to come home and cook every night for my family, so tonight is special for me. Here is to a little Rachael Ray and EVOO.

Christmas Party

These pictures are only about...oh....a month late, but these pictures have to be posted. Matt and I were able to attend Caroline's first class Christmas Party this year at SCDC. Caroline attends the center two days each week, and enjoys every moment with Ms. Wendy, Ms. Velma, and her friends. This year she made her first Christmas ornament, an angel with beads and stickers.
