Our beautiful baby girl turned 4 years old today.  As we look  back over the past 4 years, it is amazing to us how quickly the time has flown by, how much she has changed, and how much we have changed as parents.  There is not a day that goes by that we don't acknowledge what a wonderful blessing that Caroline is.

SWIM

Caroline started her first extracurricular activity this week; swim.  She has shown a huge interest in swimming this Summer, so we decided to check into the swim program at Bishop Park for the Fall Season.  I have to admit I was a mumble gumble ball of emotions this week.  We had to put her in an early class this period and I was not going to be able to make it.  I hoped she would do good and enjoy herself, but I still felt sick all day knowing this was her first big day.

Monday night we packed her bag, towel, swim cap, and goggles.  By the way....swim caps are not fun! They are tight and to a three year old that is the LAST thing they want on their head as they are learning.
Tuesday morning came and I still felt a sick Mommy feeling, but Tuesday afternoon I received the best message from Matt.  He said it was going GREAT!  She was loving it, having the best time, and her instructor was wonderful.  Her instructors name is Ms. Kelsey for this period.   We are headed back to swim again this afternoon.

Family Time

Family time has been front and center this past week, with a full calendar!  We started off by honoring Matt and his unit at the Freedom Salute Ceremony.

Drove to Harmony Grove to watch Jared coach football.  They won and it was a thrill to get to watch my brother coach.

Cheered on the Razorbacks with Addison.

Lakyn's team came down for a volleyball game in North Little Rock.  We do not get to see Lakyn often, so this was a special night for us.  I wanted to run and jump out on the court.  I love volleyball and have this secret hope that Caroline will think that it is fun also...

We celebrated Donnie's birthday this past weekend.  We may never get another shot like the photo below.

Destin/ Grandparents Day

We were back on track this year with our weekend getaway to Destin.  Last year due to Matt's deployment Caroline and I chose to stay home during Labor Day, but this year we loaded up and hit the road.  We enjoyed our schedule with nothing on the agenda but a little sand, shopping, and dining.   We bought our first hermit crab.  It is a love/hate relationship between me and the crab right now.  It is a sweet and gentle crab, but for some reason I am ready for it to find a new home.  Caroline enjoys playing with it and helping it get lots of exercise.  He is one loved crab.

This past Thursday SCDC celebrated grandparents day.  Caroline is a blessed little girl to have so many grandparents that love her and play an active role in her life.  I have prayed that one day she is able to remember the memories with her grandparents and great-grandparents.  I was reminded this week of how blessed I am to have my grandparents still be a part of my everyday life and I have memories with my great-grandparents.
